Creating a new Instagram business account? Follow these tips!

After helping over a dozen businesses kick off their Instagram presence, I’m sharing some of my top tips for success! Follow these steps for a strong start to your new page:

  1. Launch with 3-9 posts right away

A big mistake I see is when businesses “announce” their new Instagram with one (or zero) posts, just to neglect their account for weeks. There needs to be an incentive for viewers to follow you, and having multiple posts available shows you already have valuable content for your ideal audience.

  2. Have the clearest bio possible

Your bio is the first thing people see when they visit your page, so you want your target audience to know everything they need to know immediately. An easy template to follow is to state who you are/what you do and who you help.

  3. Optimize your link in bio

Do you have a website or freebie to share? End your bio with a Call-To-Action that directs viewers straight to your link.

  4. Plan out your first 1-3 months

You can’t have a sustainable Instagram presence without consistency. The good news is that you determine what that means. You don’t have to post every day, but you do need to commit to showing up for your business regularly. Planning out content so far in advance may feel like a drag, but when life (and business matters) get in the way, you’ll be glad you did.
