Five ways to use Instagram Guides for your business

Instagram Guides are one of my favorite Instagram features that are so underrated.

They’re a great way to compile existing posts into one “folder” for your audience’s convenience. Learn more in my reel

They read similar to blog posts and there are three types you can make:

  • Place Guides (which use geotags for locations)

  • Product Guides (which link to products on an Instagram Shop)

  • Post Guides (which can include any public post on Instagram - whether it’s on your page or someone else’s page. Don’t worry, Instagram will always give the owner credit)

Here are five ways to use Instagram Guides to benefit your business:

1. A Gift Guide

With so many occasions or events to shop for (Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day, graduations, etc.), this is a great way to help your followers find exactly what they need in a quick and easy way.

2. A “What to Expect” Guide

The average consumer needs to see a product or offer multiple times before they’re willing to buy into it. A guide that breaks down the process of what it’s like to work with you can help ease a consumer’s mind or remove doubts.

3. A “How-To” Guide

Your audience wants you to help make their problem less problematic. The best way to do that is to give them information that’s as simple and straightforward as possible. Hence, a “how to” guide with your top tips!

4. A Themed Guide

Whether you have different product lines or multiple audiences, you can create a themed guide based on a specific topic.

For example, a restaurant can create a Guide highlighting their vegan or vegetarian dishes. Or, a vegan creator can make a Place Guide to spotlight their favorite vegan restaurants in their city.

5. A Top 10 Guide (or top 5, etc.)

Your audience wants your expertise or opinion, so have a little fun with it! Share your top picks on a certain topic.

For example, a local photographer can share their top 10 location choices for engagement photoshoots. An esthetician can share their top 10 skincare products for clients with oily skin.
