Is your Instagram ready for Q4?

I like to assess my clients’ social media accounts quarterly because it’s a less overwhelming way to track progress towards their social media goals (imagine if we gave ourselves quarterly check-ins or deadlines for our New Year’s resolutions…we might actually keep more of them!).

Q4 is the last quarter of the financial year. It’s also the most important quarter of the year for many businesses, and Instagram is a great platform to reach customers and boost sales.

Here are a few things you can do to prepare your small business for a strong Q4 on Instagram:

  1. Set specific goals

What do you want to achieve with your Instagram? Increase followers, generate leads, drive sales? By how much?

Once you specify your goals, you can create a plan to help you achieve them.

  2. Analyze your past performance

Take a look at your Instagram analytics from the past year to see what worked best.

Then look through your content from last Q4, as well as a calendar with all upcoming national holidays, to help you map out your content.

  3. Create your content calendar

Planning out your content in advance is the best way to ensure consistent posting.

If you have special launches or campaigns planned for Q4 (Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Christmas, etc.), now is the time to prep!

Determine which holidays or occasions you want to participate in. Then determine your posting frequency and brainstorm content ideas for at least 3-4 weeks leading up to the launch, to make your audiences aware of the upcoming launch.

If you’re anything like me, you want to enjoy your holidays with loved ones instead of worrying about sales. That’s why Q4 is the most important quarter to prep for!
