How to create more reels in less time
We’ve all been there – knowing we have to create content to promote our business, yet dreading the hour(s) it takes to create a single video.
There’s no doubt that Instagram Reels have the opportunity to reach more audiences than any other type of content, but they also require time, effort, and (some) skill.
Who has time for that when we have our actual businesses to worry about?
Thankfully, I have a few tried-and-tested tips to help you create smarter, not harder.
1. Narrow down your content pillars
Your content should revolve around 3-5 themes (or pillars) that represent your brand.
These help keep your content and messaging consistent – otherwise, you may get easily swept up and overwhelmed trying to post anything and everything that comes to your mind.
2. Keep a running list of ALL content ideas
Whether you struggle with knowing what to post or you have a vision but never execute it, this is for you!
Using your content pillars to guide your ideas, write down EVERY idea or topic in your Notes app, a Word doc, or a project management tool (I use Asana).
Your brain works too hard when you make it think of ideas AT posting time. Start a list now to save time creating later!
3. Create content albums on your camera roll
The more organized you are, the lazier you can be AND get away with it.
Content albums cut the time it takes to scroll through your camera roll, and they also help you keep track of what you even have on your phone.
4. Create a structure to your reels
This may not work for everyone, but it’s important to know that each reel doesn’t have to be groundbreaking (and reality check: most won’t be).
It is OK to create a formula that you repeat and apply to each reel. If this is a system that supports your ability to create, perfect it and own it!
5. Use Reel Templates
Instagram is working on more features to streamline your content creation process.
This feature cuts down on your editing time by syncing your clips to an audio of your choice.
If you’ve spent WAY too much time clipping together several videos or photos into one reel, definitely browse through reel templates to cut down on time.
These are just the tip of the iceberg but of course, time-saving hacks must be paired with a strong content strategy in order for your business to succeed on Instagram (contact me for help in this area)!
