Three deadly mistakes that can hurt your business on Instagram

This blog post is celebrating spooky season with some of the scariest mistakes out there for business owners on Instagram!

1. An unclear Instagram bio

Your bio is the first thing a new visitor sees on your page. If you want to convert viewers into followers, and more importantly, customers, you have to make a killer first impression!!

Here’s a simple format you can follow to restructure your bio:

  • Line 1: Who you help and how

  • Line 2: Your credibility/what makes you different

  • Line 3: Your irresistible call-to-action that directs ideal audiences to your link in bio

2. Not protecting your Instagram account from hackers

Set up Two-Factor Authentication on your Instagram right now!!!

Go to Settings and privacy > Accounts Center > Password and security > Two-factor authentication.

Getting hacked and losing access to your account — especially when it is a main tool to grow your business — can feel violating and devastating.

3. Not batching your content ahead of time

This is a common way to send your account to the graveyard. Understand that you have a business to run, life gets busy, etc. Posting “in the moment” only works when you have that moment to spare.

Planning and scheduling several pieces of content in one sitting has been proven to save time long-term! And before you begin doubting this, just know that your content doesn’t have to be professional or groundbreaking. Most content isn’t, so don’t overthink it. Simple content works!
