Should you make Facebook Reels for your business?

After seeing the continued success of Instagram Reels and short-form videos in general, Meta has expanded reels to Facebook.

So, if you have a Facebook page for your business – should you post Facebook Reels, too? YES.

I have been posting Facebook Reels for multiple clients over the past few months and in some cases, my clients’ Facebook pages are growing faster than their Instagram pages.

Why?

Since Facebook Reels are a newer feature, there’s less competition and Facebook will “reward” you for making them.

I have had some reels flop on Instagram, yet thrive on Facebook.

It’s another opportunity to reach new audiences with your content – the same content, at that!

However, the editing interface on Facebook is different from Instagram and, frankly, I don’t find it user-friendly.

So, I create and post my reels to Instagram and then transfer them to Facebook. I copy the reel’s Instagram URL to snapinsta.app (yes, that’s a website, not an app) to download the final product without any Instagram watermarks.

“Recommend to Facebook”

You may have noticed that when you post to Instagram, there’s a “Recommend to Facebook” option. While I always have that option turned on, it’s not the same as posting reels directly to Facebook.

With this option:

  • You can’t find where your reel goes on Facebook (whereas when you post directly to Facebook, you can find it on the Reels tab on your page).

  • Viewers can’t engage with your recommended reel (they have to be in the Instagram app in order to do so).

I just wanted to clarify this for anyone who might think they’re already “posting” to Facebook when they’re actually just “recommending” to Facebook.

If you’re already posting Instagram Reels for your business, it is worth posting to Facebook Reels as well.

Reels aren’t going away anytime soon, and with users spending over 50% of their time consuming video content on social media, it is definitely worth the engagement and reach.
